Philippines' COVID-19 cases hit 531,699

As of Thursday, February 4, the Philippines' total number of confirmed coronavirus cases increased to 531,699, with recoveries at 487,927 and deaths reaching 10,997.

The Department of Health reported 1,590 new infections on Thursday, while two laboratories failed to submit data in time.

Active cases currently stand at 32,775, and the death toll includes 41 previously tagged recoveries that were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

Vaccine trials for Janssen’s COVID-19 vaccine are set to begin this week according to the Department of Science and Technology.
