Philippines logs over 41k new COVID-19 cases in two days

The Philippines recorded over 41,000 new COVID-19 cases in two days, with 20,741 on September 4 and 20,310 on September 3.

As of Saturday, September 4, the total number of confirmed cases reached 2,061,084, while active cases slightly decreased to 157,646.

The DOH reported 189 new deaths and 21,962 recoveries on September 4, bringing the death toll to 34,062 and total recoveries to 1,869,376.

On Friday, September 3, the country logged a record-high number of infections with 20,310 new cases, pushing active cases above 158,000.

Health experts emphasized that long-term enforcement of lockdowns and permanent solutions are necessary to address the ongoing pandemic.
