Philippines' COVID-19 reproduction number decreasing but NCR sees slight rise

On Sunday, Sept 5, OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David reported that while Metro Manila's reproduction number increased from 1.39 to 1.41, overall COVID-19 cases are decreasing.

David expressed hope for a decrease in the reproduction number during the third week of September to further slow down transmission.

OCTA noted that the national reproduction number is at 1.32 and projected new case peaks could occur within five weeks if NCR's cases peak sooner.
