PH ready for Deltacron variant

The Philippines is prepared for the emergence of the Deltacron variant, a recombinant virus of the Delta and Omicron variants identified in France, Denmark, and the Netherlands.

Presidential Adviser on COVID-19 Response Vince Dizon stated that while Deltacron has been detected since December, it is not yet a dominant variant.

Department of Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje assured readiness based on past experiences and ongoing monitoring by the Philippine Genome Center.
