Expert: Deltacron may not cause severe infections

Infectious diseases expert Dr. Rontgene Solante said on Friday that the Deltacron variant may not cause severe infections despite limited data.

Solante, who heads the adult infectious diseases and tropical medicine unit at San Lazaro Hospital, stated during a Laging Handa briefing that while information is still scarce, he believes the recombination of Delta and Omicron variants will have minimal impact on virulence but could maintain similar transmission rates.
