Gov’t launches 4th 'Bayanihan, Bakunahan' with 1.8M target

The Philippine government launched its fourth wave of the 'Bayanihan, Bakunahan' national vaccination drive on Thursday with a target of vaccinating 1.8 million individuals.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III reported that the initiative is focusing on senior citizens for their second dose and children aged 12 to 17 for their second dose, while booster doses are being administered to health workers and economic frontliners.

The DOH aims to prioritize remote and far-flung areas, including indigenous communities and Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs), through house-to-house vaccination efforts and the use of various facilities like churches and transportation terminals.
