PH Covid-19 recovery tally reaches 1.8M

As of Thursday, September 2, the Philippines' total number of recovered COVID-19 patients reached 1,840,294 with a recovery rate of 91.1 percent.

The Department of Health recorded 16,621 new confirmed cases and 148 additional deaths on Thursday.

Active cases stand at 146,510 or 7.3% of all cases, with the majority being mild (96.2%), followed by asymptomatic (1.1%) and severe (1.1%).

The previous day saw an increase in recoveries to 1,829,473 with 14,216 new infections and 86 deaths.

On August 31, the total number of recovered cases was 1,810,847 after 16,759 new recoveries were reported, bringing active cases to 145,562 with a positivity rate of about 25.4%.

The death toll has risen to 33,680 as of Thursday.
