House approves 2021 budget on second reading, session suspended

The House of Representatives approved the General Appropriations Bill on second reading despite a leadership tussle, with session suspended until November 16.

Deputy Speaker Ray Villafuerte said it would be unfair to blame the House for any budget delay if senators do not contribute their part in passing the bill.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque assured that the budget will still pass on time despite the suspension, as the Senate can proceed with deliberations while awaiting the final version from the House.
