Leachon: House can resume session sans Cayetano's consent

Oriental Mindoro Representative Doy Leachon said on Friday that resuming the House of Representatives' session without Speaker Alan Cayetano's consent is legal and possible.

Cayetano had earlier adjourned the session until November 16, extending his speakership tenure beyond October 14 as agreed with President Duterte and Marinduque Representative Lord Allan Velasco.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque called Cayetano’s move an 'astute political move' to avoid intramurals on October 14 when Velasco was supposed to be elected Speaker.
