Amihan brings rain, strong winds, rough seas in parts of Luzon, Visayas

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) continues to affect parts of Luzon, while a shear line is impacting the eastern section of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

Cloudy skies with scattered light rains are expected in Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Samar due to the Northeast Monsoon and shear line, posing risks for flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains from the Northeast Monsoon, while Visayas and Mindanao may see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized weather patterns.

Northern Luzon continues to experience strong winds with rough seas due to the Northeast Monsoon, while the rest of Luzon has moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters. The eastern section of Visayas will also have moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters.

PAGASA maintains a gale warning over coastal areas in Batanes and Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur, where waves up to 4.5 meters are anticipated.
