Pagasa warns of scattered rain due to LPA

A low pressure area (LPA) and a band of clouds will bring rainy weather across most parts of the country on Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The LPA is located about 45 kilometers northeast of Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte and is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), making it unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in regions such as Dinagat Islands, Visayas, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Quezon, Laguna, Rizal, Aurora, and Quirino due to the LPA and easterlies from the Pacific Ocean.

Metro Manila, Calabarzon, and most of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Pagasa reiterated that no gale warnings have been issued for seaboards and advised residents to take necessary precautions during rainy weather conditions.
