Pagasa warns of heavy rains, thunderstorms in Metro Manila and nearby provinces

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) warned of moderate to heavy rains expected in Metro Manila and surrounding provinces on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Pagasa's 2:18 p.m. advisory, areas including Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Bataan, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, and Quezon will experience rain showers with lightning and strong winds for the next two hours.

Pagasa also reported ongoing thunderstorms in Zambales (Santa Cruz, Candelaria, Masinloc, Palauig, San Marcelino, Botolan), Cavite (Trece Martires, Tanza, Naic, General Trias), Bulacan (Pulilan, Calumpit), and Pampanga (Apalit) which may persist for two more hours and affect nearby areas.

The state weather service advised residents to take precautionary measures against potential hazards such as flash floods and landslides.

Pagasa stressed the need for caution in these affected regions to ensure safety from severe weather conditions.
