Pagasa forecasts scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Batanes, Cagayan; warm, humid weather elsewhere

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecasts cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Batanes and Cagayan due to a shear line on Monday.

Elsewhere in the country, warm and humid weather is expected with isolated or sudden brief rain showers and thunderstorms likely from afternoon until evening due to easterlies.

For May 19, Pagasa has not identified any potential low-pressure areas within the Philippine area of responsibility for the next few days.

Temperature ranges across key cities in the country are expected to vary from 25 to 34 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila to 18 to 24 degrees Celsius in Baguio City.

Moderate to heavy rains may lead to flash floods or landslides, particularly in Extreme Northern Luzon due to the shear line.
