Overcast, rain in Cagayan Valley, Batanes, Isabela; hot, humid elsewhere

Overcast skies and rain are expected in parts of extreme northern Luzon, particularly in Cagayan Valley, Batanes, and Isabela, due to a shear line.

Elsewhere in the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are forecasted from afternoon to evening, especially in Palawan and Mindanao, caused by the easterlies.

Temperatures will remain hot and humid throughout most areas, with localized afternoon and evening rain showers possible in other parts of Luzon due to thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides may occur in extreme Northern Luzon and Metro Manila due to these weather systems, according to PAGASA’s latest forecast.

The heat index is expected to reach dangerous levels, particularly at 45°C in Dagupan City and Sangley Point, Cavite; 43°C in NAIA Pasay City and Science Garden Quezon City; and other areas reaching up to 44°C.

PAGASA advises limiting outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day and staying hydrated.
