Pagasa warns Quezon, Eastern Visayas, Caraga of severe weather, LPA

Moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are expected to persist until evening in Quezon Province, according to a warning from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

A thunderstorm advisory issued at 5:30 p.m. warned of unfavorable weather conditions in the municipalities of Quezon, Lopez, and Gumaca within the next two hours.

These hazardous conditions may affect nearby areas as well, with Pagasa advising residents to take precautionary measures against potential hazards such as flash floods and landslides.

Overcast skies with rain showers and thunderstorms are also expected over Eastern Visayas and Caraga due to a low-pressure area (LPA) located 680 kilometers east of Davao City.

Pagasa emphasized the need for caution in Metro Manila and other parts of the country, where slightly cloudy to cloudy skies will bring isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
