PAGASA: Fair weather, possible storms, LPA may become Aghon

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecasts fair weather across the country on Thursday with possible thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

A low-pressure area (LPA) is currently located about 1,080 kilometers east of Southeastern Mindanao but is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Thursday.

Weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio stated that despite clear weather conditions, isolated rain due to thunderstorms should be anticipated in the afternoon and evening.

PAGASA predicts that the LPA may develop into a storm named 'Aghon' as it approaches Eastern Visayas and eastern sections of Luzon.

Temperature ranges for major cities on Thursday include 27 to 35 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila, with other variations across the country. Additionally, PAGASA warns that 43 areas are forecast to experience danger-level heat indices ranging from 42°C to 46°C.
