PAGASA issues thunderstorm advisory for Metro Manila and 10 provinces

Metro Manila and five provinces in Luzon are expected to experience moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds on Sunday afternoon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a thunderstorm advisory at 1:08 p.m. for Bataan, Quezon, Cavite, Batangas, and Laguna, and another advisory covering Tarlac, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Bulacan, and Rizal.

Currently, heavy to intense rains with lightning and strong winds may persist in specific areas within two hours: Mabalacat, Magalang, Arayat in Pampanga; San Antonio, Cabiao, Jaen in Nueva Ecija; Iba, Botolan in Zambales; San Miguel in Bulacan; and Rodriguez in Rizal.

Residents are advised to take precautionary measures against flash floods and landslides.
