Habagat brings scattered rain, thunderstorms to Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect Central and Southern Luzon and parts of Visayas, with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms expected in several areas on Wednesday, August 7.

Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, and other regions will experience cloudy skies with isolated rains due to Habagat, potentially triggering flash floods or landslides from moderate rainfall.

Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, northern Palawan, Nueva Ecija, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, and Batangas are expected to receive moderate rain through Thursday.

A tropical depression is located 2,005 kilometers east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon but has no direct effect on the country and a Low Pressure Area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility was spotted 575 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, both currently posing minimal threat.

PAGASA has not raised gale warnings over any seaboards nationwide as of Wednesday morning.
