PAGASA raises Signal No. 2 as Maring slows down

Tropical Storm Maring (Kompasu) raised Signal No. 2 over parts of Cagayan, Isabela, and Eastern Samar on Sunday due to intense rain.

Maring slowed down to move at 20 km/h from the previous 30 km/h with maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h and gustiness up to 105 km/h.

Signal No. 1 was previously raised over nine areas including Batanes, Catanduanes, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and parts of Isabela and Samar due to strong winds and potential damage.

Maring is expected to intensify into a severe tropical storm by early Monday morning.
