PAGASA issues red, orange, yellow warnings for Palawan due to Maring

PAGASA issued red rainfall warnings for parts of Palawan including Kalayaan Island and Bataraza on Tuesday due to Severe Tropical Storm Maring and the Southwest Monsoon.

The red warning indicates torrential rains exceeding 30 mm in one hour, posing serious flooding risks in low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous regions.

Orange warnings were also raised for other Palawan areas like Aborlan and Puerto Princesa, expecting intense rainfall of 15-30 mm within an hour, threatening floods and landslides.

Yellow warnings covered additional parts of Palawan on Monday, with expected rainfall between 7.5 to 15 mm per hour, posing flood risks in susceptible areas.
