Maring death toll reaches 30

The death toll from Severe Tropical Storm Maring has reached 30 as of Thursday, with 19 confirmed and 11 still under verification by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

Majority of the fatalities were due to flash floods in Ilocos Sur at 14 and landslides in Benguet at nine.

The storm also left 14 missing, three injured from landslides and flooding, and affected almost 195,000 people across seven regions, with more than 14,000 displaced as of Thursday.
