Paeng damages agriculture, infrastructure nears PHP9B

As of Wednesday, November 9, 2022, the estimated cost of damage caused by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng to agriculture and infrastructure in the Philippines has reached nearly PHP9 billion.

Agriculture damage is at PHP4.27 billion affecting farmers and fisherfolk in multiple regions.

Infrastructure damage is estimated at PHP4.67 billion with 800 destroyed infrastructures across various regions, including Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao, BARMM, and CAR.

Additionally, there are 34,943 ruined houses with a damage cost of P17.2 million.

The death toll from Paeng is at 156 while injuries stand at 141.
