Ortega reveals new dubious recipients of VP Duterte’s confidential funds

House Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega has revealed new names on a list of questionable recipients of confidential funds from Vice President Sara Duterte's office, further supporting the impeachment articles against her.

Among the latest additions are 'Amoy Liu', 'Fernan Amuy', and 'Joug De Asim', who lack official birth records, joining previously identified dubious beneficiaries like 'Jay Kamote' and 'Miggy Mango'.

Out of 1,992 supposed recipients, over a thousand have no documented existence in government databases.

Ortega asserts that these revelations will bolster the second article of impeachment which accuses Duterte of misusing P612.5 million of confidential funds from her office and the Department of Education.

Manila 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua also revealed that 405 out of the 677 names listed as beneficiaries of DepEd confidential funds under Duterte have no birth records, adding to the growing evidence against her.

Vice President Sara Duterte's office has not provided extensive comments on the matter, citing uncertainties about the documents lawmakers are referencing.

The Senate impeachment trial is expected to formally commence in June.
