VP Sara Duterte urged to prove legitimacy of confidential funds recipients

Malacañang urged Vice President Sara Duterte to prove the legitimacy of alleged recipients of confidential funds from her office.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro emphasized that Duterte should continue working for Filipinos and stressed the need for a thorough investigation into fund utilization.

Vice President Duterte, during an interview in The Hague on Wednesday, March 19, cast doubt on the 'chain of evidence' leading to the discovery of more fictitious names in acknowledgment receipts.

Over the weekend, House Deputy Majority Leader Francisco Paolo Ortega V. revealed additional names such as 'Jay Kamote' and 'Miggy Mango,' which could be used to strengthen the impeachment case against Duterte.

The Office of the President issued a travel authority for the Vice President to visit her father in The Hague Penitentiary following his arrest at the International Criminal Court.

Undersecretary Castro reiterated that since these allegations have been questioned, VP Sara must provide evidence to substantiate or refute the claims regarding the confidential fund receipts.
