Ortega reveals more fictitious names in DepEd confidential fund probe

Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega disclosed additional names, including 'Amoy Liu', 'Fernan Amuy', and 'Joug De Asim', who allegedly received confidential funds from DepEd when Vice President Sara Duterte headed the agency.

These individuals have no birth, marriage, or death records in the Philippine Statistics Authority's database, similar to other previously disclosed fictitious names like 'Mary Grace Piattos' and 'Renan Piatos'.

The House of Representatives is investigating the use of combined P612.5 million in confidential funds under Vice President Duterte’s tenure at DepEd.

Out of 1,992 supposed recipients of OVP's confidential funds, 1,322 have no birth records and 1,456 have no marriage records, raising serious questions about the legitimacy of these fund disbursements.

Ortega dismissed Vice President Duterte’s claim that she could not verify documents due to doubts about the chain of evidence as another attempt to evade accountability for potential misuse of public funds.
