Oftana scores 39 points in clutch performance, gives TNT 2-0 series lead

Calvin Oftana secured TNT Tropang 5G's victory over Rain or Shine in Game 2 of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals on Friday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium with a game-high 39 points, including three clutch free throws to send the game into overtime.

Oftana's performance was particularly inspired after teammate Roger Pogoy left early due to injury, motivating Oftana to fuel his hot-shooting night and secure a 113-105 win, giving TNT a crucial 2-0 series lead.

TNT rallied back from an early 41-23 deficit in the second quarter and a 14-point halftime lead thanks to contributions from Jordan Heading (13 points), Mike Nieto (7 points), and Kim Aurin (7 points).

Rain or Shine's Adrian Nocum led with 27 points but couldn't overcome TNT's overtime surge.

Despite their advantage, TNT head coach Chot Reyes emphasized the need for the team to remain vigilant and focused as they prepare for Game 3 on Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
