TNT's Pogoy out, Oftana scores 39; team wins despite errors

TNT sniper Roger Pogoy remains uncertain to play in Sunday's Game 3 of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals due to a hamstring injury.

Pogoy first noticed the injury during Game 2 against Rain or Shine and aggravated it while attempting a layup, leading doctors to advise him to rest.

TNT is already without guards Rey Nambatac and Brian Heruela due to groin and hip issues for Nambatac and an ankle injury for Heruela.

In Friday's overtime win over Rain or Shine, Pogoy scored 11 points before leaving with the hamstring issue, averaging 21.8 points in four playoff games this season.

Calvin Oftana stepped up with a game-high 39 points, including key free throws to send the game into overtime where TNT pulled away for an 111-103 victory.

The PBA acknowledged and apologized for a mistake in Friday's game regarding the number of free throws given to Oftana, highlighting their commitment to improving review systems.

Coach Chot Reyes emphasized that TNT will rely on whoever is available for Game 3 as they continue to navigate injuries while pursuing their historic quest for the sixth Grand Slam.
