Yeng Guiao defends reaction to flagrant fouls

Yeng Guiao, coach of Rain or Shine, defended his reaction during a heated moment in Game 3 of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals against TNT on Sunday.

Guiao confronted Glenn Khobuntin and Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser after they committed flagrant fouls that injured Gian Mamuyac and Adrian Nocum respectively.

Khobuntin was penalized for a flagrant foul penalty 1, while Ganuelas-Rosser received a flagrant foul in the second half of the game.

Guiao emphasized his concern for player preservation due to injuries sustained by key players on both teams and stressed that dangerous fouls could jeopardize their playoff chances.

Rain or Shine won Game 3 with a score of 107-86, bringing them closer to advancing in the semifinals despite losing the first two games.

Both teams are undermanned due to injuries, making physical play more intense and crucial for survival in the series.

Game 4 is set for Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena with ROS aiming to tie the series while TNT seeks a commanding lead.
