Odette kills at least 70 in Negros Oriental

At least 70 people have died in Negros Oriental due to Typhoon Odette as of Wednesday, with 22 still missing.

The majority of the fatalities were caused by flooding from heavy rains and falling trees.

As of Monday, initial infrastructure damage was estimated at P600 million.

Bais City alone reported 15 deaths on Sunday, including a baby who fell from parents' arms while evacuating.

In Dumaguete City, two people died due to fallen debris.
