Iloilo City declares state of calamity due to Odette

Iloilo City declared a state of calamity on December 21 due to Typhoon Odette.

The declaration allows for financial assistance from the national government and a price freeze for 60 days.

As of Tuesday, 72,523 people were affected by the typhoon, including 45,810 with damaged houses and one fatality reported.

Mayor Jerry Treñas announced that households with totally damaged homes will receive P10,000 assistance while those with partially damaged homes will get P4,300.
