NVOC eyes April rollout of 2nd booster shots

The National Vaccinations Operation Center (NVOC) is planning to roll out the second booster shot, or fourth dose, of COVID-19 vaccines by late April for frontliners, senior citizens, and immunocompromised individuals.

Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje stated that the DOH has applied for amendments to the emergency use authorization (EUA) for certain vaccine brands to be used as a second booster shot.

The rollout will commence once the EUA is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), with guidelines being prepared in consultation with experts.
