Fourth vax drive exceeds targets, inoculates 1.8M

The fourth Bayanihan Bakunahan national vaccination drive exceeded its targets for first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

As of March 18, more than 65.2 million Filipinos are fully vaccinated, with over 70.4 million receiving at least one dose and 11.6 million getting booster shots.

The vaccination drive was extended from March 10 to 18 to reach more senior citizens for primary series vaccinations and fully vaccinated individuals for boosters.

During this period, the government inoculated 1.8 million people, including over 255,000 children and more than 90,000 senior citizens.

Dr. Krezia Lorraine Rosario noted that some elderly remain hesitant due to fear of side effects or a belief they are beyond the need for protection.
