NU sweeps UE 3-25, 25-14, 25-12 in women's volleyball, improves to 8-2

National University (NU) secured victories over the University of the East in both men's and women's volleyball matches on Wednesday during UAAP Season 86.

In the women's tournament, NU triumphed with scores of 25-14, 25-14, and 25-12, continuing their strong performance to improve to an 8-2 record and secure at least a playoff for a Final Four berth.

Bella Belen led the Lady Bulldogs with 13 points, four blocks, 10 digs, and 10 receptions, emphasizing her commitment to contributing to the team beyond just attacking.

Before the start of Season 86, NU highlighted redemption as their theme after losing to La Salle in last year's Finals series. However, Belen noted that sometimes the desire for redemption can overshadow enjoying the game.

Alyssa Solomon contributed 14 markers and five digs, while rookie Casley Monique Dongallo managed only six points for UE, who dropped to a seventh place with their seventh loss in nine games.

The Lady Bulldogs are now four games away from completing their preliminary schedule and remain focused on improving their performance as they approach the Final Four round.
