National University wins women’s title, Ateneo loses to UST

National University and Ateneo de Manila University secured victories in their respective semifinals, leading to deciding matches for both teams on Saturday.

On Sunday, National University defended its title in the women's division with a decisive 6-3, 6-0 victory over the University of Santo Tomas Female Tennisters after Elsie Abarquez clinched a crucial win against Justine Maneja.

UST claimed back-to-back championships in the men's category after defeating Ateneo with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph in the deciding doubles match led by Richard Bautista and Nash Agustines.

Both teams celebrated their respective championships at the Felicisimo Ampon Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.

National University's graduating team captain Mae Bornia and her partner Alliah Ragunton were named co-Most Valuable Players for the season, while UST's Richard Bautista was awarded Finals MVP.
