FEU women's volleyball team advances to UAAP Season 86 Final Four by defeating UST in five sets

Far Eastern University's women's volleyball team secured a spot in the Final Four of the UAAP Season 86 tournament after defeating league leader University of Santo Tomas in a five-set match on Saturday.

FEU ended their two-season Final Four drought with a record of 7-4, eliminating Ateneo Blue Eagles, Adamson Lady Falcons, and UE Lady Warriors from contention.

UST welcomed back top player Angge Poyos from injury but still lost to FEU in a close-fought match that saw Jean Asis score four out of FEU's five straight points in the final set.

Coach Manolo Refugia emphasized his team's strong desire for redemption after losing to UST earlier this season, while Faida Bankake led FEU with 21 points.

UST coach Kungfu Reyes noted that despite their loss, a repeat victory would have affirmed UST's dominance and secured them a twice-to-beat edge in the Final Four.

Jean Asis highlighted her team's eagerness to avenge their earlier defeat against UST, emphasizing the significance of this win for both the FEU players and their coach.
