FEU beats UST, improves twice-to-beat chances

Far Eastern University improved its chances of clinching a twice-to-beat advantage in the UAAP Season 86 men's volleyball tournament with a decisive four-set victory over the University of Santo Tomas on Saturday.

The Tamaraws won with scores of 25-23, 25-27, 25-22, and 25-15 at Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.

Martin Bugaoan led FEU with 21 points from six blocks and 15 attacks, while Ariel Cacao contributed with 25 excellent sets and two points.

FEU's blocking advantage of 16-7 was a key factor in their win over UST, who fell to a record of 7-5 in the league standings.

Josh Ybañez led the Growling Tigers with 21 points but it wasn't enough to secure victory for UST.

Additionally, University of the Philippines ended its 15-game winning streak by defeating Adamson in a thrilling four-set match, securing their first win after 12 games.
