National University beats UP in UAAP men's volleyball

National University secured a decisive victory over the University of the Philippines in the UAAP Season 86 men's volleyball tournament, winning 25-20, 25-23, and 27-25 at Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.

Jade Disquitado led National University with 16 points, while Angelo Almendras contributed 14 points, helping the team overcome a 22-18 deficit in the third set.

Coach Dante Alinsunurin praised his team's ability to maintain momentum and manage the game even when down, emphasizing the importance of this skill for future matches.

Joshua Retamar also had a strong performance with 12 points, six aces, three attacks, three blocks, and 20 excellent sets.

La Salle secured a second-place tie with National University at 3-1 following their five-set victory over Ateneo, while the University of the Philippines remains winless after four games.
