NU Lady Bulldogs win Shakey's Super League title

Two UAAP teams advanced to the finals of the 2024 Shakey's Super League National Invitationals on Sunday, July 14.

National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs secured their place in the championship series by defeating Colegio de San Juan de Letran with a score of 25-19, 25-18, 25-21 at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

In Game 1 on Monday, NU outlasted Far Eastern University (FEU) Lady Tamaraws in five sets to take an early lead with a score of 25-22, 18-25, 25-19, 18-25, 15-13.

In Game 2 on Tuesday, NU completed their sweep over FEU with another hard-fought victory in five sets to win the championship series with a score of 25-21, 23-25, 20-25, 25-19, 15-10.

Veteran players Bella Belen and Arah Panique led NU's comeback from two points down in the fifth set to secure victory; Belen scored 25 points while Panique unleashed a tournament-high 27 points.

National University completed another perfect title run in the Shakey's Super League, sweeping Far Eastern University and capturing the National Invitationals title on Tuesday night at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
