NU Lady Bulldogs win Shakey's Super League title

The NU Lady Bulldogs clinched the Shakey's Super League National Invitationals title on Tuesday, July 16, overcoming a 1-2 deficit to defeat FEU Lady Tamaraws in five sets.

Despite missing key players including Alyssa Solomon and Sheena Toring, Bella Belen led the Lady Bulldogs with 25 points, while Arah Panique contributed a tournament-high 27 points in Game 2 of the best-of-three series.

FEU's Gerzel Mary Petallo was their top scorer with 20 points, but NU secured the match point thanks to Belen and Camilla Lamina’s efforts after Alas Pilipinas rescheduled Panique and Belen's flight to Japan.

National University added the National Invitationals title to its collection after going undefeated in all 24 games across three tournaments this year, maintaining their unbeaten streak since joining the league two years ago.

Belen was named the 1st Best Outside Spiker, with teammates Camilla Lamina (Best Setter) and Shaira Jardio (Best Libero) also winning individual recognitions.
