NU Bullpups lead UST 1-0 in UAAP boys' finals; UST leads girls' series

National University-Nazareth School (NUNS) and University of Santo Tomas are set to compete in championship series for both boys' and girls' divisions in UAAP Season 87 high school basketball.

The best-of-3 finals will begin on Thursday, March 13, at the Filoil EcoOil Centre with the girls' game starting at 10 a.m. followed by the boys' match at 12 p.m.

National University's Bullpups secured a 77-70 victory against UST in Game 1 of their best-of-3 Finals series, moving them one win away from claiming their eighth UAAP boys' basketball title since Season 82 in 2019.

In the girls' division finals on March 20, Santo Tomas drubbed NUNS 85-57 for a 1-0 series lead.

UST's Racine Kane had 25 points and 12 rebounds while Koji Buenaflor added 15 points in the boys' game, but it wasn't enough to stop NU's Collins Akowe who led all scorers with 24 points and 22 rebounds.
