Nora Aunor, 71, passes away; son confirms

Legendary Filipina actress Nora Aunor passed away on Wednesday, April 16, at the age of 71, confirmed by her son Kristoffer Ian De Leon.

De Leon expressed his grief and love for his mother in a heartfelt message, urging her to rest knowing she remains close in their hearts and minds.

Aunor was one of the country's most decorated actresses, holding the record for the most Best Actress awards at the Metro Manila Film Festival with eight wins and being named National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022.

The cause of Aunor's death has not been disclosed yet; however, she reportedly had a history of health issues that led her to drop out of political campaigns due to medical reasons.
