Nora Aunor dies at 71, to be buried with state honors

Filipino entertainment legend Nora Aunor died on Wednesday, April 16, at the age of 71 and will receive a state funeral with final honors through an interment ceremony at Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City on Tuesday, April 22.

Lotlot De Leon, Nora's daughter, shared details about the wake on Instagram, confirming that family viewing began at The Chapels at Heritage Park from midnight until 2 p.m. with a mass scheduled for 8 p.m.

Public viewings will take place starting Friday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and continue through Easter Sunday (April 20) from the same hours, followed by private viewing until midnight with nightly masses at 7 p.m.

Fans flocked to Heritage Park for the first day of public viewing on Friday despite intense heat, patiently lining up in groups of ten.

Celebrities such as Vilma Santos, Senator Robin Padilla, Boots Anson-Roa, Melissa Mendez, and Glenda Garcia have already paid their respects during the first night of Nora's wake on Thursday.
