Ian De Leon pays tribute to mother Nora Aunor at state necrological service

On Tuesday morning, Ian De Leon paid tribute to his late mother, Nora Aunor, at a state necrological service held in Manila's Metropolitan Theater.

Ian was the only family member who delivered a speech during the event, emphasizing that Nora's legacy would continue to live on in the hearts of Filipinos and thanked Noranians for their support.

He recalled how his mother dedicated herself to her craft and portrayed characters reflecting societal realities, inspiring viewers with each performance, adding that she was named a National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022.

Ian held back tears as he addressed fans at the funeral service, thanking them for their love and support, and expressing how his mother inspired people until her final day.

Nora Aunor passed away on April 16 due to acute respiratory failure at the age of 71.

Her iconic films such as 'Himala,' 'Minsa'y Isang Gamu-gamo,' and 'Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos' continue to be available for streaming online.

After the service, Nora's coffin was carried out of the Manila Metropolitan Theater for her funeral at Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.
