Nora Aunor's wake ends, state necrological service set

Veteran actress Nora Aunor's wake continued on Monday night as family members and friends gathered to pay their respects during her final day of mourning.

Aunor's children-Ian, Lotlot, Matet, Kiko, and Kenneth-participated in a solemn mass at Heritage Park in Taguig, where they struggled to hold back tears as their mother received her last blessing.

Director Joel Lamangan, veteran actress Celia Rodriguez, Jamie Rivera, and other industry figures delivered eulogies highlighting Aunor's talent and contributions to Philippine cinema.

Politicians and celebrities such as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, former President Joseph Estrada, Senator Imee Marcos, Judy Ann Santos, Sheryl Cruz, Boy Abunda, and Janice de Belen visited the venue to pay their respects.

Vice President Sara Duterte sent her condolences through flowers to the bereaved family despite not being able to attend in person.

Aunor's life and legacy will be celebrated with a state necrological service at the Metropolitan Theater on Tuesday, April 22, followed by funeral rites at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
