Duterte downgrades NCR Plus to stricter GCQ

President Rodrigo Duterte has downgraded the National Capital Region Plus (NCR Plus), which includes Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal, from a modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) to a general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions starting May 15.

The decision follows a recommendation by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

During a meeting at Malacañan Palace, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced that NCR Plus will be under GCQ with heightened restrictions until May 31.
