PNP chief: NCR Plus border checkpoints stay despite shift to GCQ

Philippine National Police Chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar announced that border control points will remain in place for NCR Plus despite the shift to general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions.

Eleazar stated that non-essential travel into and out of the NCR Plus bubble is still prohibited, and only authorized persons outside residence (APOR) can cross borders if their travel is work-related.

The PNP chief also ordered police manning the control points to arrest and charge individuals caught smuggling people in or out of the region using cargo vehicles and vans.
