New LPA forms east of Central Luzon, may develop into tropical cyclone

A new low-pressure area (LPA) formed east of Central Luzon on Friday according to PAGASA.

The LPA is unlikely to develop into a tropical depression in the next 48 hours but will move northwestward over the Philippine Sea and approach extreme northern Luzon by Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

Meanwhile, another LPA that had been monitored has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and may dissipate soon.

Ezra Bulquerin of PAGASA stated that the new LPA could potentially develop into a tropical cyclone but currently poses no direct threat to any part of the country.
