Florita exits PAR but Signal No 1 remains in North Luzon

Severe Tropical Storm Florita (Ma-on) exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday morning but Signal No. 1 remains raised in parts of Northern Luzon.

Florita is moving west-northwest over the West Philippine Sea toward southern China, where it will make landfall on Thursday morning or early afternoon.

As of Tuesday night, Florita was located northwest of Laoag City with maximum sustained winds of 95 kph and gustiness up to 115 kph.

Signal No. 1 remains hoisted over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, western Cagayan, Apayao, Abra, western Kalinga, western Mountain Province, northern and western Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and La Union.
