Negros Oriental quarantines travelers from China

Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo issued an executive order on January 31 placing all foreigners and individuals coming from mainland China and Hong Kong under a 14-day quarantine.

The order came after the DOH confirmed the first case of novel coronavirus in the Philippines, involving a 38-year-old woman who traveled to Dumaguete City and other parts of Negros Oriental from Wuhan, China via Hong Kong on January 21.

Degamo also established a Hospital Incident Command System headed by Assistant Provincial Health Officer Liland Estacion to ensure safety and coordination with the DOH and other government agencies.
