DILG directs LGUs to form nCoV task forces

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año has directed all local government units (LGUs) to create coronavirus task forces following the confirmation of the first case in the Philippines.

Año ordered LGU executives to adopt severe measures against the virus and ensure that health authorities receive necessary equipment such as masks, goggles, gowns, and gloves.

The DILG undersecretary Jonathan Malaya stated that all LGUs should implement DOH protocols and cooperate with other government agencies in response to the WHO's declaration of a world health emergency.
